Biography
Sarah Newman is an accomplished composer, arranger, producer, songwriter, music transcriber, and teacher based in Orange County, CA. She is currently known for her big band compositions and arrangements which are played by professional groups in the area, as well as for her self-produced pop music, church music, and other various compositions and contributions to artist and commercial recordings.
Sarah Newman is originally from Portland, OR. She relocated to Orange County in 2018 to attend Biola University, and graduated with a degree in Commercial Music. There, she learned classical composition, as well as songwriting and recording techniques. She composed several original pieces, as well as many original songs. She later went on to self-produce, record, and release her own original song "I Gotta Give Up." Sarah now works with some of the most prominent jazz musicians and composers in Southern California, and she composes and arranges big band works that are performed by professional groups in the area. Her other work includes composing for short films, contributing to artist and commercial recordings on trumpet, piano, and vocals, transcribing and creating charts for professional session musicians and performers, and teaching one-on-one lessons for piano, vocals, trumpet, music theory, songwriting, and recording.
